Privacy Policy

FilterHound is an informational site. There's no login and no newsletter, so you're never asked for personal information. This page explains what data does touch the site: aggregate traffic measurement, and the logs hosting platforms keep automatically.

Information collected directly

Nothing you type. The site has no user accounts, no forms that store data, and no way to submit personal details.

The hosting platform (see Vercel below) keeps standard web server logs: your IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested. That's used for performance and abuse detection. It's not sold or shared.

Third-party services

Google Analytics. FilterHound uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and where visitors come from. It records things like the page you viewed, the referring site, your approximate location (city level, derived from IP), and your device and browser type. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to tell one visit apart from the next. IP addresses are anonymized by Google and are not stored in the reports. Nothing here identifies you personally, and the data isn't sold or shared. Google's privacy policy explains their side. You can opt out entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Amazon.com. The product links on this site point at Amazon. Once you click through, you're on Amazon and their privacy practices apply. Amazon uses a tracking cookie to attribute purchases back to FilterHound for the affiliate commission. Amazon's privacy notice covers the details.

Vercel. The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel keeps server logs and basic performance metrics for the platform. Vercel's privacy policy has the specifics.

Cookies

The only cookies FilterHound sets are the Google Analytics ones described above, used to count visits and sessions. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking pixels. Once you click through to Amazon, Amazon's cookies apply on their domain.

Changes

If anything here changes (a new third-party service, an analytics tool, anything that touches user data), the change will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
