GE says XWFE replaced XWF in 2020, kept the same size, shape, assembly and installation, and is compatible with every refrigerator that used XWF; the older XWF is therefore recorded as a superseded number rather than a duplicate filter page. XWFE adds RFID-based LeakDetect and life-remaining information. GE rates it for six months or 170 gallons at up to 0.5 gpm and lists NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401. Five model spec sheets name XWFE directly, while GE's GYE22GENDS parts page lists both XWFE and RPWFE.
